Crafted in our woodshop in Central KY. This Drum Carder has been a project 8 years in the making. During the designing process I decided to LOAD the carder with any helpful feature I could imagine. (Including several never seen before features)

From the finished prototype I worked backwards going through my system to craft these efficiently so I could make the price VERY competitive and give you the greatest value.  I am so excited to offer this product. As always if you don't absolutely love it I do WHATEVER it takes to make it right.

Attachments: 

  • Auto Swift Cleaner. Cleaning drum mounts to back out of the way. Clean your swift in 5 seconds! (Patent Pending)
  • 2" Hand Brush Use this for cleaning Licker in, AND for opening locks. (This can also be mounted on our comb holder to use as a stationary flicking tool to clean up poor quality locks before carding for nep free batts!)
  • Packer Brush with one knob quick adjust. 
  • 2 Original Bam Fiber Works Clamps - (Same Clamps as our wool combs) Can Clamp on a 2" thick table surface. (Longer clamps are  also available sold separately
  • Quick Adjust Licker-in Levers  Adjust your carder in seconds (No tools required)
  • Hook Style Doffing Tool with Ergonomic Wood Handle. 

Features:

  • Onboard Tool Tray Attachments store inside front of carder. Right where you need it. 
  • Adjust the distance between the licker in and swift in seconds. No Tools Required!
  • Belt Tensioner. Extend the life of your belt as it stretches by tensioning it. 
  • Feeler Line on Feeder Board. A sensory indicator your hands are getting close to the licker in.
  • 2 Speeds 6:1 and 4:1 ratios for processing both fleeces and for blending 
  • Easy Clean Drum Shafts. Handles and pulleys remove in seconds for easy cleaning. (No tool required)
  • Motor Grade Ball Bearings on drums- Permanently oiled, SMOOTH operation
  • 72Tpi Cloth - Great for most fiber types.
  • Special Style Licker-in (Doesn't tend to collect and wrap fiber)
  • Cherry Wood, with Hand Rubbed Danish Oil Finish.

Thoughtful Design

I was amazed how much thought has gone into the design of this carder. Easy to clean, because you don’t need a special tool to take it apart; easy to find your hand comb and lifting tool, because they’re in the handy space below the feeder; east to clean the drum, because of the cleaning reel that stays out of the way when not used! Well done!!

My BAM carder (Bold And Magnificent) arrived Tuesday, right on time. I had it up and running by sundown. I love it, love it , love it! The finish is beautiful. The addition of the front storage compartment is brilliant and so convenient as are the new wooden guides in front of the licker-In. And . . . and . . . and the magnets and the cleaning brush stored at the rear is GENIUS! I DO HOPE YOU HAVE A PATENT ON THAT.
The inclusion of all the additions is astounding without changing the footprint of this traditionally bulky machine.

I love it

I will be honest I never used a drum carder before this but it was very easy and I love how it works and how easy it is to clean I processed several oz of alpaca and plan to process more!
